A handmade toy kitten comes alive and enters the hidden world beneath an old sofa.
The Mormitten universe grew from a family story into animation, VR cinema, a social world, an interactive game and fulldome presentation. Across the formats, a handmade toy kitten comes alive and enters the hidden world of lost children’s things.
A story before a format
Mormitten is sewn from scraps and buttons after a quarrel between two children. In the hidden world beneath the sofa, he helps return what has been lost. The story approaches friendship, care and responsibility through an accessible adventure.
Animation and immersive cinema
The linear versions combine animated storytelling with 360-degree environments. They were adapted for headset viewing and fulldome exhibition so the same emotional world could reach both individual and collective audiences.
From film to world
MormoVerse extended the characters into VRChat, while Under the Pillow: Kitten Mormitten became a playable family VR experience. These formats do not simply replay the film; they allow audiences to create, move and explore inside the universe.
Children as makers
The project’s workshops and audience activity include children sewing, drawing and inventing their own Mormittens. This maker dimension is central to the educational value of the IP.
