A documentary work about people living in suspension, loss of agency and the recurring ritual of waiting.

VISARUN is a spatial documentary about people living in suspension between the country they left and the temporary place where they try to remain. A recurring border journey becomes a measure of time, uncertainty and limited agency.

The documentary object

At the centre of the work is a real Yugoslav K67 kiosk standing between Serbian and Bosnian border checkpoints. The kiosk was captured with Gaussian Splatting and remains the documentary anchor of the experience.

The island is not a reconstruction

Around the captured kiosk, VISARUN builds an imaginary island shaped by waiting, weather, voices and repetition. It is an artistic expression of the emotional condition, not a literal representation of the border location.

A public poem as narrative trigger

A poem written on the wall of the real kiosk became a shared record for people making the same journey. The work treats this anonymous inscription as a living archive: personal, temporary and repeatedly encountered.

Current presentation form

The July 2026 festival work-in-progress is a private VRChat world for PCVR and desktop access. It can also be presented as a guided live projection, allowing a group audience to encounter the spatial documentary together.
